  1. Enhancement of Campus Facility Services (Main Campus)

a. Sanitary & Hygiene Facility Improvements

  • Toilet Seat Sanitizer Dispensers — Installed in all male, female, and accessible restrooms to elevate hygiene standards. Users can conveniently disinfect the seat before use, effectively reducing bacteria and viruses for improved personal hygiene and safety.
  • Transparent Toilet Paper Dispensers — The older dispensers have been replaced with transparent paper dispensers. Their clear design allows easy visual monitoring of paper levels, ensuring consistent availability, reducing waste, and streamlining maintenance.
  • New Toilet Signage — Updated signs to remind users about key precautions and best practices when using restrooms.

b. Signage & Wayfinding Enhancements

  • New Campus Information and Feedback Signage — New and clear signs for “Campus Information” and “Facilities & Services Feedback” have been installed in selected locations on campus. The initiative improves accessibility to key information while promoting greater community engagement by inviting feedback on facilities and services, supporting continuous improvement, and a more inclusive environment.
  • New CCTV Signage — Added signage to raise awareness of security  in relevant areas.
  • New Carpark Signage — Implemented voluntary carpark-sharing signage for designated carparking spaces, opening available spaces for general use   In addition, the displayed signages at Priority Reserved Parking area are also updated to improve visual identification. 

c. Security & Entrance Upgrades

  • Security Counter Upgrade at 1/F Entrance, Lee Quo Wei Academic Building (D) — Upgraded to better equipped with a PC workstation integrated with the CCTV system for real-time monitoring and enhancement in security.

2. New E-Directory at S H Ho Academic Building  

The new E-Directories are installed at S H Ho Academic Building in November 2025 to improve clarity with added potential as e-notice boards. More e-directories will be installed in campus-wide locations by phase, expected to complete by the end of June 2026.

3. Smoking Control in the Vicinity of the Campus  

Arising from the Smoking (Public Health) Ordinance (Cap. 371) which took effect on 1 January 2026, CDMO has implemented a comprehensive smoking control initiative. Security Guards conduct frequent spot checks at all main campus entrances.  “No Smoking” signs have also been posted around the campus perimeter to raise awareness among HSU members and help maintain a consistently smoke-free environment.

4. New vending machines on Campus 

New Halal Food Corner, located at the covered area underneath the Yip Kit Chuen and Yuen Yuk Hing Hall, started its operation in September 2025 to meet diverse dietary needs and enhance inclusiveness for HSUHK students and staff. 

New Vita Fresh Tea Vending Machines, located at the corridor near M Canteen, began operation in November 2025 to provide more healthy drink options to HSUHK students and staff. 

  1. Enhancement of Campus Facility Services (The Create, WestK)

a. Concierge Services

CDMO has prepared a welcome card for teachers to assist them effectively master the use of the IT equipment and showcase the IT accessories we offer to support their teaching.  The welcome card also listed multiple channels for communication and interaction with teachers, such as telephone number, email address, and website, so that teachers can easily reach us for assistance.

b. New Provisions

Since the usage of The Create continues to increase, CDMO is keenly aware of users’ needs for restroom amenities. Similar to our campus, toilet seat disinfectants and an extra paper towel dispenser have been installed before the start of this academic year.  Additionally, to further enhance the user experience, CDMO also installed shelves in each toilet cubicle for small items and placed air-purifying potted plants near the sinks, bringing a fresh and clean atmosphere for users.

In addition to improving the restroom amenities, CDMO has also enhanced some facilities in common areas, such as providing lockers for students, installing power sockets on the desks of smart stations and adding additional payment methods to the coffee machine in order to provide high-quality of service.
