  1. New Security Services Provider

The tendering process for security services was completed in August 2024. CDMO and FO conducted the assessment and recommended the most suitable tenderer for management’s approval. The new security services provider began a two-year contract on 1 October 2024.

  1. New Flagpoles and Student Flag-Raising Group
    The University has established a Student Flag-Raising Group with formal trainings from the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association. New flagpoles are installed in Yip Kit Chuen and Yuen Yuk Hing Hall. This group will be responsible for the ceremonial flag-raising events. The inaugural flag-raising ceremony conducted by the newly formed Student Flag-raising Group took place on 2 January 2025.

3. Coordination with the Department of Computer Science Office for Relocation to 4/F, Lo Hui Kit San Building

Through meticulous planning and execution, CDMO successfully coordinated with  the Department of Computer Science to relocate its office from the M Building to the 4/F of Lo Hui Kit San Building on 11 January 2025.

  1. Re-opening of Pedestrian Entrance and Closure of Car Parking Spaces at Lee Shau Kee Complex

To facilitate easier access for staff and students to the campus, the pedestrian entrance near Lee Shau Kee Complex has been reopened. Meanwhile, due to the rearrangement of campus space resources, car parking spaces at Lee Shau Kee Complex have been closed until further notice. This closure is necessary to facilitate the planned improvements and enhancements to campus facilities.

  1. Passage Underneath Yip Kit Chuen and Yuen Yuk Hing Hall

To improve accessibility between buildings in campus, a passage underneath Yip Kit Chuen and Yuen Yuk Hing Hall has been set up. This addition will provide a safer and more convenient route for individuals with mobility challenges in campus.

7. Provision of BBQ Stoves at the Pool Side

We are excited to announce that 2 BBQ stoves are available for booking at the swimming pool side outside Rendezvous (M Canteen) for the HSU community to enjoy outdoor gatherings. Staff and students are welcome to book the BBQ stoves via CDMO e-form: CDMO219 – Application for the Use of Barbecue Stoves

8. New Vending Machine Offering Halal Snack Choices

To better serve the diverse dietary needs of our campus community, a new vending machine has been installed at the vending area underneath Yip Kit Chuen and Yuen Yuk Hing Hall, featuring a variety of Halal snack options for the campus community. More vending machines would be installed on campus progressively to expand the choice of food and beverages available to our students and staff.

9. Event Support on the Opening Ceremony of The Create, M+ Tower, WestK

To facilitate the opening ceremony of the HSUHK town centre, The Create, on 4 October 2024, CDMO has coordinated with various parties in the event setup and other preparations including moving the furniture and IT equipment and fully opening the movable partition for backdrop setup, arranging retractable barriers to fence the AV and lighting systems to ensure the safety, coordinating with catering services vender for food delivery and preparation and arranging a first aider to standby on the event day.

10. Additional Provisions and Facilities in The Create

In order to provide users with a comfortable leisure area in The Create, CDMO has closely monitored the fit-out progress so that the leisure room and pantry can be put into service w.e.f. 8 Oct 2024.  To provide an enjoyable experience, there are 2 vending machines and a coffee machine in the leisure room and a microwave, refrigerator and hot and cold drinking water dispenser in the pantry for users to enjoy meals in the center.

11. Staff Appreciation Day 2025 by The Rotary Community Corpus (RCC) of Patrick S C Poon Amity College on 26 February 2025

The Rotary Community Corpus (RCC) of Patrick S. C. Poon Amity College hosted a Staff Appreciation Day on February 26. This annual event is to honor  dedicated university staff members. This year, the RCC presented gifts to our colleagues in CDMO (Building Service Section & Landscape) and ITSC, highlighting the recognition of the work done by the teams.
