Newsletter 202103 – Projects, renovation and improvement works

1. Campus Development Project

To meet the growing needs of the University, a new academic building is currently under design to address the longer-term need of  space. The building will be located at the West Lane (i.e. the grassland beside the nullah).  Encompassing spaces for offices, gallery,  lecture theatre, computer laboratory, multi-purpose studio, etc. The building is planned for completion in late 2022.

2. Renovation and improvement works

In addition, the following renovation and improvement works were completed in Dec 2020 and Jan 2021, including the new Student Learning Commons at 2/F of S H  Ho Academic Building, D405 Smart Classroom Initiative and improvement work at 3/F M Building.

a. Student Learning Commons

The University management has planned a new student facility at the 2/F S H Ho Academic Building in order to enrich students’ campus life and enable them to interact with others for building up their networks.

b. D405 Smart Classroom Initiative

CDMO had implemented some improvement works at D405 as requested by the Task Force on Smart Classroom Development in order to enhance the teaching and learning environments. Features include flexible seating arrangement to facilitate small group discussion with glass white walls around to allow students to mark or tape on their illustrations for further interaction.

c. Improvement Work at 3/F M Building

To freshen up the University logo area at 3/F M Building, CDMO has carried out renovation works and improved lighting around the area. Remember to drop by for a photo when you next visit.
