1. Anti-mosquito measures

Mosquitoes cause great nuisance to our staff and students on campus. To control and prevent mosquito problems in general, CDMO has taken actions by installing two sets of mosquito traps outside the S H Ho Academic Building and at the rooftop of Lee Quo Wei Academic Building in November 2023.

The traps with attractants or insecticides shall be able to effectively control the mosquito breeding cycle, as well as minimize the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.

2.Wi-Fi Clocks in classrooms

To enhance the consistency and accuracy of time display on Campus, the advanced clocks with the connection to Campus networks by Wi-Fi for synchronization have been installed in all classrooms.

3. Briefing Sessions on Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Charging to the University Community

To enhance the community on the familiarity regarding the MSW charging, two briefing sessions were conducted on 9 and 10 January 2024.

4. Online Report Form for Building Defects

To provide a more efficient means of managing service requests on reported defects or problems on campus buildings/premises, an “Online Report Form for Building Defects” has been launched on 13 November 2023 on eCampus– Apps>Services & Contacts > Online Services > Work Request Reporting.

5. Nursing Facilities

To support the Government’s initiative in promoting breastfeeding, CDMO has reorganized the setup in D311 as the TEMPORARY Nursing Room with effective from 6 February 2024 before formal new nursing facilities are completed at M4/F expected in May 2024 tentatively.

6. Cleaning Campaign

To tie in with the implementation of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) charging with effective from 1 August 2024, CDMO has launched a large-scale cleaning operation on campus starting from 1 March 2024, more recycling bins have been set up for the university community to dispose of unwanted papers.

7.Outstanding Staff Award for Administrative and Academic Support Staff for AY2023/24

The Presentation Ceremony was held on 19 April 2024. The following CDMO colleagues have been selected to receive this year’s Outstanding Staff Award. These awards serve as a testament to the exceptional dedication, professionalism, and contributions demonstrated by our team members. We deeply appreciate the opportunity to recognise these outstanding individuals for their unwavering commitment to excellence.
