1. AI Cleaning and Disinfection Robot
With the commencement of Semester 2 in mid-March, 2021, CDMO has carried out all necessary disinfection measures to reduce the risk of epidemic outbreak and cross-infection inside the campus. Such measures not only will get the University prepared if COVID-19 should hit but will also build resilience to prepare for any unforeseen pandemic in the future.
An AI robot is carrying out the cleaning and disinfection works on campus
To employ more cost-effective means to disinfect campus space and high-touch surfaces, CDMO has increased the cleaning frequency and has deployed cleaning robot since March 2021 to carry out autonomous disinfectant spraying as well as cleaning at the same time. You may see the robot in action at selected areas such as building lobby and event venues. A disinfection and cleaning robot allows the University to clean and disinfect the campus much more frequently and cost-effectively, ensuring the disinfectant coatings on high-touch surfaces are frequently applied to provide a safe environment for the users.
2. Find locations of water dispensers and vending machines with QR code
All water dispensers and vending machines have been affixed with respective QR codes showing a plan of all locations equipped with water dispensers or vending machines.
HSUHK supports plastic reduction by phasing out sales of bottled water. Water dispensers have been installed at over 30 locations for water refill needs. For most of the new water dispensers installed since September 2020, self-cleaning of water tank inside water dispensers is carried out every week, during the mid-night.
